This Serapi antique rug measures 381 x 630 cm and carries the spacious, architectural presence of the type. A stepped central medallion sits within a prayer-niche composition, surrounded by delicate floral and geometric motifs in coral, indigo, cream, and faded blue. The broad borders introduce a quieter register, balancing the richly drawn field with a softened, timeworn edge. Low distress allows the design to read clearly while retaining the gentle patina of age. Circa 1880 - 1900, it reflects the grounded symmetry and expressive colour that define the Serapi tradition.
