A Serapi antique rug in wool, the composition pairs a pronounced medallion with a fine floral lattice and stepped cartouche in the field. At 290 x 335 cm the rug balances a warm red centre with gold and neutral surrounds, subtle colour shifts adding depth without heavy loss. Borders carry repeated rosette and palmette motifs, preserved with low distress and an even pile that reads tactile and grounded. The overall effect is heritage-aware and materially honest, a study in medallion proportion and tempered wear. Circa 1890 - 1910.
