This Serapi presents a warm red field punctuated by a navy centre and pale seafoam and cream detailing. The wool fibre carries a soft abrash and restrained, balanced colouration, the floral arabesques arranged from a central medallion into refined corner spandrels and a floral guard border. Wear is low and even, giving the piece a tactile patina while maintaining pattern definition. An antique rug that feels both composed and generous, it measures 259 x 356 cm and reveals the careful interplay of colour and form. Circa 1890 - 1910. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
