This Serapi in wool presents a bold navy medallion set against warm rust and gold fields, tempered by ivory spandrels and delicate teal highlights. The design is framed by a repeating rosette border, the composition confidently scaled and finely resolved. Wear is minimal, a subtle patina and slight abrash giving the piece atmospheric depth without obscuring detail. The overall hand is tactile and composed, a heritage antique rug with considered colour harmonies and graphic presence. Circa 1890 - 1920. Size 305 x 368 cm.
