A refined Serapi in wool, this antique rug measures 262 x 424 cm and centres on a rose-pink medallion set into a deep navy field framed by a salmon-pink guard. Ivory spandrels and serrated cartouches carry stylised trees and small floral motifs that read as part ornament, part schematic landscape. The colour range, navy, coral, soft blue and warm ivory, is presented in a low, tactile pile with a gentle, even patina. Surface wear is minimal; subtle abrash adds depth without obscuring the geometry or borders. Circa 1890 - 1930, this Serapi exemplifies the material tactility of well-aged wool rugs.
