A Serapi woven in wool fibre, this rug shows a bold central medallion articulated by angular palmettes and layered borders. The neutral cream and brown colourway is balanced by muted blues and restrained abrash, giving the surface a considered, tactile depth. Low wear retains much of the original pattern while the borders frame the composition with steady rhythm. This piece reads as a collected antique rug with quiet provenance and measured scale. Circa 1885 - 1900. Measurements: 284 x 391 cm. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
