This Serapi is a commanding wool piece, its stepped central medallion articulated in navy and ivory against a warm red ground with cobalt corners. The wide ivory border balances the field with geometric lozenges and serrated motifs, the palette showing subtle abrash in the blues and a low level of wear that preserves texture and colour depth. The vocabulary is direct and craft-forward, an antique rug that reads simultaneously bold and considered underfoot and at scale. Circa 1880 - 1900. Size: 335 x 437 cm. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
