This Sultanabad antique rug, measuring 137 x 218 cm, brings together an allover floral field, scrolling vines, and a narrow border with geometric accents. Woven in wool and showing low distress, it has a softly worn face, with fading and abrasion that lend depth to the dark ground and clarity to the lighter motifs. Cream, green, red, gold, and blue tones move through the design with a refined, weathered rhythm. Circa 1920 - 1935, it reflects the expansive floral language often seen in Sultanabad weaving, while its aged surface adds texture and calm.
