This Sultanabad antique rug measures 274 x 422 cm and presents the familiar lyricism of the type in a softened, timeworn register. The faded red field is organised around a tall central medallion, with floral corner sections, scrolling border vines, and layered guard bands carrying notes of ivory, sage, aqua, and muted gold. Its low distress is visible in the worn surface, subtle fading, and gentle abrash, all of which lend the piece a quiet, settled presence. Circa 1900 - 1925, it retains a clear decorative rhythm while feeling softened by age and use.
