This Sultanabad antique rug in wool measures 307 x 521 cm, with a long floral field set beneath a dark, elaborately patterned border. The cream centre is animated by palmettes, blossoms, and fine vine work, all softened by a restrained, timeworn palette of ivory, muted rose, sage, teal, and earthy brown. Circa 1900 - 1935, it shows medium distress, visible fading, and softened edges that temper the detail without diminishing its presence.
