This Sultanabad displays an ivory ground patterned with looping floral vines, palmettes and stylised rosettes in soft gold, neutral tones and navy accents. A red-gold guard border provides a warm frame while subtle abrash and a low-distress surface lend a supple, aged texture. The wool weave reads like accumulated atmosphere; brushstrokes of colour and careful drawing remain legible across the ground. The palette is muted yet warm, reading as an immediate, tactile presence. It feels measured and quietly ornate, an antique rug that balances delicate design with restrained wear. Circa 1915 - 1930.
