A Sultanabad defined by a soft blue‑grey ground and coral-red border, this piece balances bold palmettes with an airy lattice of floral elements. The wool shows low, consistent wear and a gentle abrash that lends a faded, painterly quality to the palette of cream, white and sage. Borders remain well articulated, the motifs retaining their graphic presence despite softened edges and light pile loss at high points. Circa 1900 - 1915. This antique rug, 249 x 361 cm, has the tactile patina and considered colouration associated with early 20th century Sultanabad production.
