A large Sultanabad rendered in wool, the field is a dense floral and vine lattice worked in red with neutral and brown tones that age to a mellow, tactile surface. The wide scrolling border frames repeating palmettes and lends compositional clarity while low distress and subtle abrash harmonise the palette. The hand is soft from wear yet the pattern remains legible, giving the piece a considered presence as an antique rug. Measurements 386 x 556 cm. Circa 1885 - 1925. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
