This Sultanabad is an understated antique rug in wool, 325 x 422 cm, with a warm red field softened by cream and white accents. A dense allover floral lattice of palmettes and linked blooms fills the centre, held by a narrow guard and a wider floral main border. Low distress and even abrash give the pile a soft, worn patina that reveals subtle colour shifts and delicate surface variation. The weave language is heritage-aware and tactile, with a calm, composed presence. Circa 1885 - 1905. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
