A wool Sultanabad with a measured restraint in motif and colour, shown here at 305 x 384 cm. The ivory ground hosts a fine allover floral lattice of palmettes and rosettes, washed in soft peach, powder blue and muted teal with navy accents. Borders are narrow and disciplined; the pile shows even wear and a gentle abrash that lends a lived, tactile surface to the whole. This antique rug reads as a calm, heritage piece with refined patterning and a soft, aged palette. Circa 1915 - 1930. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
