This Sultanabad presents a mellow central medallion set within an airy scrolling floral field, rendered in wool with neutral ground and muted red, cream and white highlights. Wear is even, producing a soft abrash and a lived-in patina that accentuates the design without obscuring it. Border motifs remain defined against the faded field, the overall surface showing medium distress and a gentle softness to the pile. The piece reads as an antique rug with measured restraint, tactile depth and a quiet sense of history. Circa 1880 - 1900. Size: 318 x 401 cm.
