This Gharabah antique rug measures 183 x 373 cm and has a restrained, timeworn elegance in wool. Its field carries an allover blend of floral details, scrolling vines, and small geometric blossoms, framed by borders that balance ornament with a softly worn outline. Warm taupe, brown, olive, muted blue, and ivory form a layered, earth-led colour story that feels refined and settled. Circa 1900 - 1930, the rug shows medium distress, with visible fading and abrash that mellow the pattern and give the surface a lived-in, tactile character. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
