This Gharabah antique rug measures 193 x 589 cm, with a slender, extended proportion and a dark central field layered with floral and geometric motifs. Ivory borders, traced with blue guard bands, organise the composition with rosettes, vinework, and small repeating forms that feel precise yet warmly worn. The wool pile shows gentle softening, subtle fading, and lightly irregular edges, all consistent with low distress and age. Circa 1880 - 1910, it has a composed, heritage-led character, with rich contrast and a quietly atmospheric surface. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
