This Gharabah antique rug measures 122 x 201 cm and is woven in wool with a gently faded palette of plum, rose, olive, cream, and muted gold. The composition is centred on a floral bouquet set within a plain field, then enclosed by a dense border of blossoms and leafy vine motifs that soften the overall outline. Medium distress lends the surface a worn, tactile character, with muted contrast and subtle irregularity at the edges. Circa 1920 - 1940, it has the settled presence of a well-aged antique rug, balanced between ornament and restraint.
