This Kashan antique rug in wool measures 287 x 371 cm and presents a restrained, atmospheric composition in white, cream, and neutral shades. Its allover floral field is organised around repeating ornamental forms, with a fine border enclosing scrolling vine work and delicate medallion-like motifs. The medium distress lends the surface a softened depth, with visible fading that blurs the contrast and allows the design to read almost as a woven whisper. Circa 1900 - 1930, it shows the poised symmetry and decorative refinement long associated with Kashan rugs, expressed here in a muted and graceful register.
