A quietly worn Tabriz Haji Jalili in wool, the colour range reduced to warm beige and cream with hints of faded ochre. A central medallion sits within a softened floral vine field, framed by multiple floral borders now mellowed by years of wear. Heavy distress has smoothed many details, producing a tactile, low-relief surface with visible repairs, pile loss and creasing that attest to long use. At 152 x 168 cm the piece reads intimate and composed while revealing subtle abrash across the field. Circa 1885 - 1900. This antique rug retains a considered, tactile character.
