Tabriz Haji Jalili / 10708

Tabriz Haji Jalili bears a formal central medallion set within a dense floral and vine ground, the design balanced by defined corner spandrels and multiple floral borders. Woven in wool, the surface shows low wear and a soft, lived-in patina that accentuates the layered tan and ivory detail against the rich red and brown colourway. The finely modelled motifs remain legible, while the piece retains even edges and modest abrash. This antique rug measures 384 x 612 cm and reads as a considered example of later 19th to early 20th century Tabriz production. Circa 1885 - 1900.
