A refined Tabriz Haji Jalili in wool, 274 x 378 cm, centred on a prominent medallion set into a warm red field and framed by dense floral arabesques in neutral and cream. The scalloped cartouche and delicate palmettes create measured symmetry while layered borders articulate the edge. Condition is low distress with a subtle, even abrash that deepens the red ground yet preserves crisp motif definition. This antique rug has a tactile, atelier sensibility; the restrained colour and considered composition suggest mature age and careful use. Circa 1900 - 1915
