At 320 x 427 cm the proportions feel measured and formal, the layered border work framing repeating palmettes and stylised sprays with crisp definition. Wear is low; the surface has a soft hand and subtle abrash that lends depth to the colour. This antique rug bears the calm patina of careful use while the pattern retains its refinement and presence. Circa 1920 - 1940. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
