A commanding lion occupies the neutral field of this Gharabah, rendered in wool with rich brown modelling and strong red accents. Floral bouquets punctuate the corners while a narrow guard border of rosettes defines the composition; subtle abrash across the field lends depth to the palette and a lived, tactile quality. The object reads as an antique rug of deliberate figuration and restrained wear, where the wool pile maintains an even surface and the borders remain stable. Circa 1925 - 1945. Measurements: 135 x 274 cm. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
