An intimate example of Kashan floral weaving, this antique rug presents an ivory-cream ground densely populated with palmettes and scrolling arabesques, contained by a deep navy guard and flowered main border. The wool pile shows low, even wear and delicate abrash that softens the colour transitions and clarifies the intricate tendril work. The composition feels airily balanced; finely drawn motifs remain legible across the field. Circa 1930 - 1945. Measurements: 264 x 351 cm. The tactile surface, restrained palette and careful preservation convey the measured craft of Kashan weavings and their enduring design language.
