A bold Kazak in a saturated red ground, anchored by three geometric medallions in navy and green. The wool fibre presents low wear with a tactile, even finish and a warm lustre; small polychrome lozenges and hooked motifs animate the field while a narrow guard border contains the design. The red ground shows subtle abrash that reads as patina rather than loss, and the borders remain crisply defined with minimal edge wear. This antique rug balances vigorous colour with measured composition, an object of craft and quiet history. Circa 1880 - 1925. Size: 183 x 282 cm.
