A Kashan in wool, measuring 312 x 569 cm, this antique rug shows a broad red field tempered by cream and pale-blue accents. The layout is an all-over floral network of palmettes, sprigs and foliate scrolls, set within a layered navy floral border. Wear is low and even, producing a soft abrash that enriches the colour and surface texture; edges remain neat with only slight fraying. The wool fibre retains a supple hand and a time-softened sheen that emphasises the piece's crafted character. Circa 1910 - 1930 The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
