This Afshar antique rug measures 340 x 678 cm and has the long, composed presence of an enduring woven field. A softened aqua centre is flecked with small floral motifs, then enclosed by layered borders in cream, terracotta, blush, and warm tan. The surface shows a mellowed, timeworn character, with visible fading that diffuses the pattern without losing its structure. Circa 1900 - 1930, it reflects the restrained intricacy and aged patina associated with an antique rug, where colour has settled into a calm, tactile harmony and the design retains its quiet architectural balance.
