This Afshar antique rug measures 122 x 140 cm and carries a compact, richly ordered composition of stepped medallions and small-scale geometric forms. Brown and rust tones anchor the field, while blue, white, and cream introduce brighter notes and a clear sense of pattern depth. A layered border of repeating motifs and angular guard bands completes the design with restraint. The visible wear is low, yet the surface has softened with age, lending it a calm, textured character. Circa 1900 - 1930. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
