This Turkaman antique rug, measuring 112 x 135 cm, is built from a layered arrangement of geometric panels, stepped diamonds, and repeating border devices in brown, cream, white, and muted rust. The design reads as structured yet varied, with a lattice band across the top and a compartmented centre that gives the whole piece a measured cadence. Woven in wool, it has a dry, tactile handle and medium wear that softens the contrast without diminishing the pattern. Circa 1880 - 1910, it shows the nuanced fading, abrash, and gentle edge character expected of an antique rug of this type.
