This Khotan antique rug measures 163 x 305 cm and carries the quiet balance of an early 20th-century weave. A faded grey field holds three stacked medallions, each outlined in red, cream, and soft gold, while the borders alternate between geometric meander and decorative floral forms. The surface shows medium wear, with mellow abrasion and softened colour that deepen its lived-in character. Circa 1880 - 1900, it reflects the restrained palette and classical structure associated with Khotan rugs, presented here in wool with a calm, timeworn presence. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
