This Khotan carries a hushed palette and the gentle authority of age. The antique rug shows a wide, pale central field bordered by several narrow geometric floral bands and a muted floral reserve at one end. Wool fibre has softened under extensive wear, revealing cream and brown tones through layered abrash and even fading; pattern notes survive as delicate echoes. The overall character is understated and tactile, attesting to long use and careful craft. Circa 1900 - 1920. Size: 239 x 480 cm. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
