This Afshar antique rug measures 119 x 168 cm and unfolds in a field of fine chevrons arranged around three diamond medallions. Multiple borders, worked with geometric devices, stylised florals, and tribal accents, give the piece a framed, architectural presence. The wool surface shows a softened, lived-in texture, with warm rust, coral, ivory, navy, and blue-green notes deepening the composition. Circa 1920 - 1940, this is an Afshar piece with the rhythm, restraint, and detail associated with the weave. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
