This Khotan antique rug measures 130 x 267 cm and offers a gently faded surface in cream, ivory, muted red, and soft grey. Three elongated medallion forms anchor the field, while small geometric motifs and a stepped border with diagonal stripe edges give the composition its structure. The wool pile shows medium distress, with worn areas and softened colour creating an aged, tactile character. Circa 1880 - 1910, it reflects the poised balance and understated ornament associated with Khotan rugs. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
