This Khotan antique rug measures 269 x 528 cm and shows an allover lattice of round floral medallions in softened coral red across a warm beige ground. Its layered border system is neatly composed, with scrolling vine details and fine linear frames that give the whole design a measured edge. Woven in wool, the rug has low distress, with even fading, softened contrast, and gentle wear at the outer edges. Circa 1880 - 1910, it carries the quiet balance and decorative restraint associated with Khotan weaving, while the long, narrow format allows the pattern to unfold with steady rhythm.
