This Needle Point antique rug measures 53 x 53 cm and offers a compact square format with a finely drawn floral composition in wool. An ivory ground supports a central medallion set within a green star-shaped outline, while small blossoms and sprigs scatter outward in rose, rust, gold, and soft blue. The border remains understated, allowing the central motif to read clearly and giving the piece a calm, ordered rhythm. Circa 1850 - 1865, it has the softly worn presence of an antique rug with low distress and a restrained, timeworn surface.
