This Sivas antique rug measures 130 x 216 cm and shows a refined, timeworn composition shaped by the Sivas tradition. A navy ground anchors a scalloped central medallion, floral ornament, and layered borders, all worked in red, cream, ivory, and muted gold. The pattern is still legible, yet softened by even wear, fading, and surface abrasion that give the piece a gentle, honest patina. Woven in wool, it holds a poised balance of detail and restraint, with decorative rhythm carried from edge to edge. Circa 1880 - 1895, it feels settled, composed, and quietly expressive.
