This Khotan antique rug measures 173 x 335 cm and reflects the calm, structured language often found in the region’s historic weaving. Three medallions run through the field, framed by angular corner brackets, floral accents, and a border of repeating ornament that gives the composition its rhythm. Woven in wool, the surface has softened over time, with medium wear, faded cream and neutral tones, and a gently aged patina. Circa 1900 - 1940, it offers a considered balance of pattern and restraint, with an atmosphere shaped by age rather than excess.
