This Khotan antique rug measures 142 x 208 cm and carries a poised, botanical composition with a distinctly architectural frame. The wool field is worked in deep blue, cream, white, and warm brown, centring a flowering tree with slender branches and layered blossoms. A pale inner border and floral outer guard lend structure, while the visible wear softens the contrast and adds nuance to the surface. Medium distress is evident in the gentle fading and tonal variation, giving the rug a lived-in, tactile presence. Circa 1930 - 1955. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
