This Esfahan antique rug measures 157 x 102 cm and carries a finely worked figural composition in wool, enclosed by pictorial cartouches and a floral border. The central scene is animated yet composed, with musicians set amid trees, blossoms, and small architectural vignettes. A soft cream ground is lifted by light blue, burgundy, green, rust, and navy, creating a balanced, painterly palette. Low distress leaves the motifs legible, while the fringe and outer edges show gentle age character. Circa 1920 - 1935, it has the quiet presence of a decorative textile shaped by careful detail.
