This Khotan antique rug measures 213 x 391 cm and presents a softened palette of red, pink, cream, and white over a gently faded ground. An open floral lattice spreads across the field, enclosed by a Greek key-style inner border and slim floral guard borders that lend clear structure to the composition. A darker distressed band through the centre adds character, while overall wear and mellow tonality speak to age and use. Circa 1900 - 1920, it balances decorative rhythm with a subdued, time-softened finish, true to the layered presence of an antique Khotan.
