This Khotan antique rug, measuring 130 x 249 cm, presents a saturated red ground set with floral roundels, small geometric motifs, and angular corner details. A series of cream, white, and neutral borders organises the composition, lending definition to the field and drawing out the rug’s decorative rhythm. Woven in wool, it has low distress, with gentle fading and softly worn edges that speak to use over time. Circa 1900 - 1915, it offers the measured symmetry, rich colour, and heritage character that define the Khotan tradition, while remaining visually calm and well balanced.
