A measured Bakhshaish in wool, this antique rug shows a red ground softened by neutral registers and pale pink accents. The main field is organised into repeating vertical floral panels punctuated by ivory rectangular registers, contained by a wide geometric border of octagonal motifs. Distress is low, with discreet abrash and gentle toning that emphasise the rug's lived tactility and material presence. Circa 1880 - 1900. Measures 368 x 386 cm. The restrained palette and rhythmic motifs read as a historic study in pattern and fibre, quietly refined and materially direct.
