An Esfahan antique rug in wool, 246 x 345 cm, composed around a central medallion and an allover floral vine. A deep blue main border with medallion cartouches frames cream spandrels and a richly articulated field in blue and neutral tones. The wool shows low, even wear and slight abrash, lending a muted, well-aged surface that preserves the design's clarity. The weave language is classical and refined, the palette carefully modulated for a soft, tactile presence. Circa 1925 - 1940. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
