An energetic Khotan with restrained wear, this antique rug measures 122 x 267 cm and presents a tactile, hand-aged surface. Pale neutral ovals sit within a warm red field, framed by cream inner guards and a serrated ochre outer border. The wool fibre retains a soft pile with gentle abrash that modulates the colours; motifs read as medallions, small rosettes and angular corner keys. Saturated red and sunlit gold are held in calm proportion, edges tidy with modest wear that hints at careful use and preservation. Circa 1900 - 1915
