A saturated red ground anchors this Khotan, arranged with three circular medallions, secondary floral roundels and angular corner spandrels. Pale cream and grey define the medallion fields while ochre and black form a cloud-band border that contains the motif rhythm. Woven in wool with low, even wear, the pile feels softened and reveals gentle abrash across the field. The composition reads as an antique rug that balances strict geometry with a painterly worn surface and considered craft. Circa 1900 - 1920. Measures 122 x 249 cm. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
