A confident Bakhshaish in warm rust-red and indigo blues, centred by a rectangular medallion with an ivory centre and navy surround. The wool fibre carries geometric boteh, hooked devices and small rosettes, composed with the broad, painterly gestures found in Bakhshaish weaving. Multiple guard borders frame the field, their repeating motifs bringing order to the composition. Low wear preserves a velvety pile and reveals subtle abrash across the colour field; the edges show minor losses but remain whole. This antique rug reads as both graphic and tactile, colours mellowed yet still vivid. Circa 1890 - 1910. Exact size 366 x 427 cm.
