Bakhshaish / 12196

A narrow Bakhshaish runner with an axial sequence of geometric medallions and compact floral fillers, woven in wool with a measured palette of neutral, red and brown. The field shows gentle abrash that softens the motifs and imparts a mellow, tactile surface; the guard borders repeat small rosettes and hooked elements along the long sides. Wear is low and even, with modest fringe loss at the ends and well maintained edges, giving the piece a considered, antique rug character. Overall the runner reads as quietly aged, an object of lived craft at 91 x 475 cm. Circa 1885 - 1925
