This Sivas is a quietly luminous wool fibre rug, 107 x 142 cm, centred on a chain of diamond medallions set into a floral and vine ground in warm tan, cream and muted blue. The broad cream border carries palmette and scrolling motifs that frame the centre with gentle formality. Medium distress and subtle abrash have softened the pile and mellowed the palette, lending the surface a tactile, lived-in patina. As an antique rug it balances pattern integrity with honest wear, revealing its material history through colour and texture. Circa 1900 - 1955.
